(NEWS) - Ryan should be central in Blade Runner - Androids Dream

Updated 30 Sept. 2015

Hello GosAdd,
We have few  news about  Blade Runner: Androids Dream.

Den of Geek reports an interview taken with Ridley Scott, who directed the original cult movie and he said interesting things.....
Exclusive: Ridley Scott reveals that he'd asked one director to helm Blade Runner 2, but got turned down. Ryan Gosling is likely to star.
As part of his promotional work for the excellent The Martian, which arrives in UK cinemas tomorrow, Ridley Scott chatted to us about the movie, and moved onto discussing Blade Runner 2.
What we know about Blade Runner 2 thus far is that Denis Villeneuve is directing the film (following his successes with Prisoners and Sicario), Harrison Ford is returning, and that Ryan Gosling is likely to feature.
Chatting to us last week, Scott admitted that the excellent Villeneuve wasn't actually the first choice to direct Blade Runner 2. "It's a hard one", he said. "I asked somebody before, who I though would be right - I would rather not say who it is. He just said 'I'm not going to do that, I'm never going to follow through on that"'.
Scott also told us that " I spent the last two years writing what will be a sequel, and it’s done. I’m not doing it. Denis Villeneuve’s doing it, which I think is a good choice. Harrison [Ford] is in, and the other person - I’m not certain yet, but... I shouldn’t say who. But there’s somebody else who’s very good, very interesting. I think Ryan Gosling is probably going to do it, with Harrison".
Gosling had previously been rumoured for the film, but Scott seems to be suggesting there's substance to that rumour.
When we quizzed Sir Ridley if Gosling would be the central character, he said "yeah, yeah. I can’t really say more than that, because it’ll give away the story. But Harrison’s definitely in it. In an important way".
Make of that what you will.
The full interview with Sir Ridley Scott can be found here.

In another interview with Yahoo, Ridley Scott has also confirmed Harrison Ford is definetely a replicant and the story takes place 30 years later than the original (that was set in 2019), so around 2050.
Ryan Gosling is a great choice for Blade Runner 2.
Yeah, and I got Harrison back. Because Harrison said, “Meh,” and I said, “No, read this.” And I think he said, “This is the best script I’ve ever had.” We’ve been working on it for a couple of years.

You once said he’s a Replicant in the first one.
Of course he’s a bloody Replicant! He’s going to have to admit it.

So don’t Replicants die after four years?
I’m not going to tell you. You’ll have to see the story. It’ll all make sense.

And you’re going to hand over the franchise to Ryan Gosling after that.
Yeah, yeah.

What year will it be set in?
It was 2017, so coming back it’ll be 2047, roughly. As young as you can play Ryan Gosling. He’s 34, but he looks 27 when he’s doing his push-ups. So maybe 2050.

Before closing, in a previous interview with Denis Villeneuve, he confirmed Ryan is attached at the project (read my previous article) so at the moment he is the LEAD while Ford will appear in a supporting role.

Stay Gos
