Also this year November has gone. So it's time for a new movie in our Monthly Film Feature.
As I've said in the first post (back in October) when I've decided to started this feature I was unsure about how to proceed. But in the end, I've decided to go on by time.
So, December will be devoted to Ryan's first movie as main character: The Believer.
The movie has been shot in 2001 by Henry Bean and introduced us to Ryan, who won 3 awards for his role:
- Chicago Film Critics Association Awards as Most Promising Performer
- Independent Spirit Awards as Best Male Lead
- Russian Guild of Film Critics Awards as Best Foreign Actor.
The movie itself won 2 big awards:
- The Grand Jury Prize at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival
- The Golden St. George at the 23rd Moscow International Film Festival.
The story is about a young Jewish who develops a fiercely anti-Semitic philosophy.
The movie is based on the factual story of Dan Burros, a member of the American Nazi Party and the New York branch of the United Klans of America (the main "party" was the KuKluxKlan) in the 1960s who was revealed to be Jewish by a New York Times reporter and, after this, committed suicide.
Few of you maybe know The Believer was a short at the beginning and the role of Danny Balint was played by Judah Lazarus. And here comes my question:
What role does Judah Lazarus play in The Believer with our Ryan?
Be honest and dont' go surfing the net to answer. If you don't know it, just write it.
There are little more infos about this movie but we've got 31 days to discuss them.
So take a look at this amazing movie where you will hate Ryan in a way you could not imagine. But you will also feel sorry for him and you will feel his pain.
Here we go now: let's start our Monthly Film Feature December.
