It's sure: Ryan Gosling first movie as director will be premiered at the 67th edition of the Cannes Film Festival (held by 14 to 24 May).
As you by now know the title has changed from How to catch a monster to Lost River.
This is the official synopsis:
Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, BILLY, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while BONES, her eighteen-year-old son, discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive. It's not the only news. Infact, The Film Stage has released a couple of new images.
In the first one we see Ryan with a camera on his shoulder in what seems to be a supermarket. I do remind you the movie was shot in Detroit (Masonic Temple area and on Belle Island) and in the Warner Bros studios in Burbank (for the indoor scenes)
The second image is the first still from the movie. It's an intriguing and claustrophobic one.
We can recognize Christina Hendricks closed in a transparent shell in a strange pose, like she was crying and terrified while staring at a hand moving towards her.. Whose hand is that?
Let's wait now for the poster and the trailer.
Good evening and..Stay Gos
